Uterine Tenaculum
A uterine tenaculum is a surgical instrument commonly used in gynaecological procedures, particularly during cervical or uterine interventions such as dilation and curettage (D&C) or hysteroscopy. It features a long, slender shaft with a curved or hooked tip and sharp teeth or prongs at the end. The tenaculum grasps and stabilises the cervix or uterine tissue, facilitating manipulation and providing traction during surgical procedures for optimal visibility and control.
