Gardner Brown Tuning Forks C256 are used in the surgical field to assess the vibration sense of a patient. This is done by gently tapping the tuning fork on a hard surface and placing it on the patient's skin. The patient is then asked to indicate when they can no longer feel the vibration. This is done to assess the patient's sensory nerve function.
