Our product photos show instruments before final production.
Before dispatch, every Scala instrument is inspected, laser marked and passivated, giving it a clean, finished surface and added protection against corrosion.
Cooley Rib Spreader Aluminium Pediatric (Blade Width x Blade Depth: 15 x 30mm) (Arm Length: 85mm) (Opening Width: 140mm)
The Cooley Rib Spreader Aluminium Pediatric is a self retaining thoracic retraction instrument designed to provide controlled and stable rib separation during paediatric cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures. The instrument allows gradual and precise opening to maintain consistent exposure of the operative field without continuous manual retraction, supporting accuracy and procedural control in the operating theatre. Manufactured from lightweight aluminium, it reduces handling weight while maintaining the strength and stability required for paediatric use. The blade design with a width and depth of 15 x 30mm is shaped to engage the ribs securely while distributing retraction forces evenly to minimise localised stress. With an arm length of 85mm and a maximum opening width of 140mm, the instrument is proportioned for paediatric anatomy and provides controlled access to the thoracic cavity. It is suitable for repeated cleaning and steam sterilisation and is intended for use in clinical environments where reliable and stable rib retraction is essential.
These are re-usable, non-sterile medical devices (unless otherwise stated).
