Our product photos show instruments before final production.
Before dispatch, every Scala instrument is inspected, laser marked and passivated, giving it a clean, finished surface and added protection against corrosion.
Cooley Rib Spreader Aluminium Adult (Blade Width x Blade Depth: 35 x 50mm) (Arm Length: 145mm) (Opening Width: 200mm)
The Cooley Rib Spreader Aluminium Adult is a self retaining thoracic retraction instrument designed to provide controlled and stable separation of the ribs during adult cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures. The instrument allows gradual and precise opening to maintain consistent exposure of the operative field without continuous manual retraction, supporting procedural efficiency and surgeon focus in the operating theatre. Manufactured from lightweight aluminium, it reduces handling weight while maintaining the strength and stability required for adult thoracic use. The blade design with a width and depth of 35 x 50mm is shaped to engage the ribs securely while distributing retraction forces evenly to minimise localised stress. With an arm length of 145mm and a maximum opening width of 200mm, the instrument provides effective access to the thoracic cavity while allowing controlled adjustment throughout the procedure. It is suitable for repeated cleaning and steam sterilisation and is intended for use in clinical environments where dependable and stable rib retraction is essential.
These are re-usable, non-sterile medical devices (unless otherwise stated).
