Our product photos show instruments before final production.
Before dispatch, every Scala instrument is inspected, laser marked and passivated, giving it a clean, finished surface and added protection against corrosion.
Burford Rib Spreader Aluminium Adult with 2 Pairs of Blades (Arm Length: 200mm) (Opening Width: 300mm)
The Burford Rib Spreader Aluminium Adult is a self retaining thoracic retraction instrument designed to provide controlled and stable separation of the ribs during chest and cardiothoracic procedures. The ratchet mechanism allows gradual and precise opening to maintain consistent exposure of the operative field without the need for manual holding, supporting procedural efficiency and surgeon focus. Manufactured from lightweight aluminium, the instrument reduces overall handling weight while maintaining the strength required for adult thoracic use. Supplied with two interchangeable pairs of blades, the rib spreader can be configured to accommodate different patient anatomies and surgical approaches. With an arm length of 200mm and a maximum opening width of 300mm, it provides extended access to the thoracic cavity while allowing controlled adjustment throughout the procedure. The instrument is suitable for repeated cleaning and sterilisation and is intended for use in operating theatres where dependable and stable rib retraction is essential.
These are re-usable, non-sterile medical devices (unless otherwise stated).
