A Sims Uterine Curette is a surgical instrument used to scrape the lining of the uterus during a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure. The sharp edges of the curette are used to scrape away any remaining tissue, such as placental tissue, that may remain in the uterus after a miscarriage or abortion. The malleable shaft allows the surgeon to manipulate the instrument to reach difficult areas of the uterus.
