The Burford Rib Spreader Aluminium Child is a self retaining thoracic retraction instrument designed to provide controlled and stable separation of the ribs during paediatric chest and cardiothoracic procedures. The ratchet mechanism allows gradual and precise opening to maintain consistent exposure of the operative field without the need for manual holding, supporting safe and efficient surgical workflow. Manufactured from lightweight aluminium, the instrument reduces overall handling weight while providing the strength required for paediatric use. Supplied with two interchangeable pairs of blades, the rib spreader can be configured to suit smaller patient anatomies and specific surgical approaches. With an arm length of 110mm, it is proportioned for controlled retraction in paediatric operating theatre environments and is suitable for repeated cleaning and sterilisation where dependable and stable rib retraction is essential.
These are re-usable, non-sterile medical devices (unless otherwise stated).
